Frequently asked questions
Focused answers for teams evaluating Vault PDF for confidential client PDFs. For architecture details, see the Trust Center; for plan limits, see Pricing.
After you finish a job, Vault PDF generates a signed receipt proving the PDF was processed in your browser and not retained on our servers. Share the link with a client or regulator as evidence of how the file was handled.
Most free converters upload your file to their servers, process it there, then delete it after a short window (often 1–24 hours). During that window your confidential PDF exists on third-party infrastructure. Vault PDF core tools never receive your PDF bytes, processing happens in your browser, and you get a signed deletion receipt per job as proof.
PDF processing runs entirely in your browser using permissive open-source libraries (pdf-lib, PDF.js, qpdf). We do not use AGPL-licensed processing modules. Your files are never uploaded to our servers for core PDF tools.
Owners and admins can download a PDF explaining your team's PDF workflow, including sub-processors and browser-only processing, from Settings → Compliance. Send it to a client as proof of how their documents are handled.
Vault PDF has one public paid plan: Compliance. It includes up to 10 users, browser-local PDF tools, deletion receipts, client-facing proof, PII preflight, and audit exports.
Invite teammates from the Team page on the Compliance plan. Owners and admins manage roles; members can access the workspace tools and activity.
No. Vault PDF runs in the browser, so teams can use everyday PDF tools and generate compliance evidence without downloading a heavy desktop application or standing up a server.
New workspaces get a 7-day Compliance trial for up to 10 users. No credit card required. When the trial ends, subscribe from Billing to keep using the dashboard and tools.
