PDF Privacy Cleaner

Choose what to remove, clean the file entirely in your browser, and download a verified copy. Metadata, scripts, attachments, and external links are selected by default; optional cleanup can flatten forms or remove comments and layers.

Private by design

Your PDF, filename, findings, phrases, sizes, and results stay in this browser. Choose “Open PDF.” Nothing is uploaded to Vault PDF.

How it works

Three local steps

The interactive tool above runs entirely in your browser. These steps summarize what happens without requiring JavaScript.

  1. Open a PDF from your device. Bytes stay in this browser tab.
  2. Review the default privacy removals (metadata, scripts, attachments, external links) and optionally enable form flattening or comment/layer cleanup.
  3. Run the cleaner locally, then download a verified privacy-cleaned copy.

Outcome

What you get

Use this page when you need a private, one-off PDF action without creating an account.

  • A PDF with selected privacy risks stripped before you share or archive it.
  • No signup and no upload to Vault PDF servers.
  • Explicit limitations so you know structural cleanup is not a confidentiality guarantee.

Limitations

This structural cleaner cannot guarantee confidentiality or detect every PDF feature. Modifying a signed PDF invalidates its signatures and requires confirmation. Optional destructive choices can affect forms, annotations, links, layers, and accessibility.
